Raw Material Procurement and Inventory Management

Clay/Sand Management

Molding of Raw Bricks

The process of making raw bricks, known as "Pathai," used to be done by people called "Pathers" in Punjab. Now, machines are used to perform this task because there are insufficient workers to make the work faster and easier.

  • This report helps the owner know exactly how much to pay workers, as they sometimes ask for more money.
  • Total bricks molded, by location and either per Pathera or date.

Drying Process/Pamayash

After shaping the bricks, they are left to dry slightly. Then, they are arranged in rows to dry more quickly and to clear space for making more bricks the next day. The brick maker, known as a "pathera," takes care of this step as well.



Kachi Bharayee

"Kachi Bharai" is the process of moving bricks that have dried properly and are ready to go into the kiln or be stored. This is done by a person called a carrier or "bhugi wala." They use different methods such as tractors, carts, bicycles, or even carry the bricks themselves, depending on the area.

Firing/Jalayee

Firing Process (Jalayee): During this stage, the bricks inside the kiln are heated to harden them. This task is carried out by a person known as the jalayee Personal or Mistri.

  • The software sends a report to the owner if the coal or other materials used for burning is too much or perfact. This helps the owner keep track of and use resources wisely.



Nikasi / Finished Stock

Nikasi / Final Products: Once the bricks are heated in the kiln and hardened, they are sorted based on their quality, such as first quality, second quality, and so on. The terms used for these categories may vary based on the local language or area.

  • The software displays complete details of bricks moved out, sorted by quality.
  • In some places, owners keep records of the bricks with lines or chamber
